Emma qualified as a solicitor in 2008 and obtained Higher Rights of Audience in 2010. She began her career with the Crown Prosecution Service, where she progressed to Senior Crown Prosecutor, managing serious and sensitive criminal cases involving complex evidence and vulnerable witnesses. This experience provides her with a detailed understanding of investigative processes, evidential assessment and the interaction between investigations and disciplinary proceedings.
In the UK, Emma has experience advising within public bodies on employment disputes, workplace conduct issues and governance matters, and has also held a senior role leading a workplace investigations function within a large national organisation. She has particular experience advising on cases involving whistleblowing concerns, misconduct allegations and other sensitive workplace issues, where careful handling and clear legal strategy are critical.
Emma also acts as a Legally Qualified Person advising police misconduct panels on legal and procedural matters during misconduct hearings, providing independent legal guidance on complex disciplinary proceedings.
She is known for her calm and pragmatic approach to sensitive matters, providing clear and strategic advice in challenging situations.
