Being investigated by your regulator is one of the hardest things a professional can go through. Too often, investigations stretch on for eighteen months or longer, with little clarity about what is happening or when it will end. That uncertainty takes a real toll on your health, your family, your finances and your sense of who you are, and after all of it a great many professionals are found to have no case to answer at all.
The Regulatory Justice Foundation exists to change this: to make regulatory processes across every profession fairer, more transparent and more humane, and to stand alongside professionals through the psychological weight of investigation. Its work, from peer support meetings and suicide-prevention support to financial navigation, research and advocacy in Parliament, is grounded in a simple belief: that people under investigation deserve to be treated justly, and not left to face the process alone.
That is why the Foundation has partnered with us at Regulation Resolution. We are a specialist team of regulatory defence and fitness to practise solicitors, and early, expert legal advice can make a genuine difference to how an investigation unfolds. Jonathan Meadows - Partner Lead
Jonathan Meadows, Partner, is our primary point of contact for all Regulatory Justice Foundation members.
Jonathan is a leading regulatory defence lawyer with extensive experience on both sides of regulatory proceedings, giving him a rare strategic insight into how regulators build their cases and how best to defend against them.
Experience across the regulatory field
Jonathan's career includes serving as Chief Prosecutor at the General Dental Council, before moving to defence work representing regulated professionals. He has acted in some of the most complex and high-profile regulatory cases across all of the healthcare regulators, including the GMC, NMC, GDC, GPhC, HCPC, Social Work England and the GOC.
Because he has previously prosecuted cases himself, Jonathan understands from the inside how allegations are assessed and pursued. For someone under investigation, that insider prosecution experience means your defence is shaped by a lawyer who knows exactly what you are up against.
